The right choice for financial modelling

Mo.net has been built upon Microsoft’s .NET development platform and is fully compatible with all Microsoft technologies, so is not plagued by legacy issues often associated with other modelling software.

Powerful

  • Mo.net has been built upon the Microsoft .NET Framework and is fully compatible with all Microsoft technologies.
  • Mo.net is a robust solution for the computational complexities of Solvency II, including stochastic and dynamic modelling. When evaluated by prospective clients for Solvency II implementation, Mo.net is the clear winner against competition.
  • Mo.net’s architecture ensures that models can be compiled in a few seconds, and that every calculated value at any time can be viewed, analysed and validated to ensure accuracy.
  • Mo.net models can be created in a hierarchical structure so individual models can be tested in isolation, and code re-use is standard.
  • Mo.net is fully compatible with 64-bit, parallel processing and cloud technology, allowing flexible computing power to be harnessed for large data volumes and when extensive scenario analysis is needed.

Intuitive

  • Mo.net has a familiar user interface, similar to the latest Microsoft Office products.
  • Mo.net functions are written in Visual Basic, so employees who have experience of Microsoft Excel macros can become familiar with Mo.net in a short time.
  • Mo.net’s unique ability to link, group and re-use code ensures that models are easy to understand and highly efficient.
  • Mo.net models are freely editable, so updates due to regulatory or business changes can be easily implemented.
  • Software updates and licensing is supported over a web-based service. Dedicated online services enable users to raise and discuss queries securely and confidentially.
  • Mo.net can be deployed and in use very quickly.
  • Mo.net allows actuarial modellers to be quick, flexible and responsive to business needs.

Collaborative

Reporting

  • Mo.net output files are fully open for analysis in Microsoft Excel or any other third-party package.
  • Outputs can be automatically grouped by any underlying parameter or by individual model component.
  • Advanced financial projections (varying underlying inputs and parameters) can be run from within Microsoft Excel without having to open Mo.net.

System requirements

Component Requirement

Operating system

Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 or later for server-based installations.

Microsoft Windows 8 Pro or later for workstation-based installations.

.NET Framework .Net Framework Version 4.5.2 or later.
Processor speed Minimum: x64 Processor 1.4 GHz
Recommended: 2.0 GHz or faster

The processor speed will directly impact the performance of any model running within the development environment.

Processor type x64 Processor: AMD Opteron, AMD Athlon 64, Intel Xeon with Intel EM64T support, Intel Pentium IV with EM64T support
Cores Minimum: 2
Recommended: 8
Memory Minimum: 1 GB
Recommended: 4 GB

The memory requirement will largely be dependent on the volume of data being cached by an individual model during operation. Data caching is not essential for model operation but will increase performance due to reduced disk / network IO.

Network adapter Gigabit Ethernet adapter (10/100/1000baseT PHY/MAC) for networked applications - data sourced from / written to network file shares or DBMS environments.
Hard disk The installation of Mo.net (Model Development Studio Edition) requires a minimum of 50MB of available hard-disk space.

Additional space will be required to store model code, binaries and associated data. Typically no more than 100MB will be required to store all components required to run a given model.
